Life Assured Health Guidelines:
Prior to the purchase of any policy, the age and health of the life assured will have been thoroughly investigated.

Life Settlements For life settlements, there is often a minimum age limit of 65 years.

Viatical Settlements Negotiations for a Viatical Settlement are based upon estimates of the assured's life expectancy. Life expectancy is determined by independent reviews of the insured's medical records by third party medical underwriters, and consultations with experts in the relevant field of medicine. The underwriters provide individual life expectancy opinions based upon statistical data combined with the insured's medical history. These can vary significantly due to differing opinions on treatments, prognoses and future medical advances. It is not an exact science, and experience is therefore very important.

Terminally-ill individuals with life expectancies of 7 years or less are primarily considered. Terminal illnesses may include various cancers, heart disease, AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, ALS, or any other life threatening disease. Complete copies of medical records are obtained for verification of their health status, and many of these are provided for us by Midwest.
